Multiple Teams · Piedmont Softball Wins Region Title

Chloe Bohuslavicky shut down El Reno, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Piedmont Wildcats to a 9-0 victory on Tuesday to win the Class 5A Region Title.
Piedmont Wildcats secured the victory thanks to five runs in the second inning. Ashlyn Brown, Kenedi Morelock, and Noodle Owen each had RBIs in the big inning.
Piedmont Wildcats opened up scoring in the first inning when Rikki Hadley’s sac fly scored one run for the Wildcats.  The Wildcats tallied five runs in the second inning. Brown, Morelock, and Owen each had RBIs in the frame.
Bohuslavicky took the win for Piedmont Wildcats. She went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out six. With the win, Bohuslavicky moved to 16-5 on the year. The Wildcats are now 28-5 heading into the State Tournament, they were 19-17 last year.
Mutzig took the loss for El Reno. She allowed 11 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out two.
Piedmont Wildcats launched two home runs on the day. Molly McDermott had a homer in the seventh inning. Owen had a long ball in the second inning.  The Wildcats tallied 11 hits in the game. Brown and Owen each managed multiple hits for the Wildcats. Owen and Brown all had two hits to lead the Wildcats. Piedmont Wildcats tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Morgan Clark led the way with four.
The Class 5A State Tournament will be October 12-14, at Hall of Fame Stadium.
